Gosh... I haven't read in quite some time. I've never been much of a book worm, I just kind of go through reading phases. For a while my favorite book was The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I think everyone knows of that one. Seriously, I even made my livejournal layout look just like the book cover. It was pretty awesome, actually.

The Center Of Everything by Laura Moriarty

It's been awhile since I've read it, and I have a really awful memory, especially when it comes to books and movies, so I honestly couldn't tell you what it was about. I guess you'll just have to read it yourself.

I tend to favor books with lines that really inspire me. I usually have a highlighter handy when I am reading a book I own.

I actually do have a GoodReads account.

Scrubs! What else is there? Well, I'll tell you; There's plenty of crap out there: C.S.I., C.S.I.: Miami, C.S.I.: New York, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, SHUT UP ALREADY! I hate all that crap. What sick perverts consider this entertainment? Fuck you.

I have a hard time getting interested in any new shows. It seems like there is a new show every week, and I find that very annoying.

It took me awhile to get into Scrubs, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It's the perfect combo of comedy and drama. I loved when they did a spoof on sitcoms, and I just love the humor in general.

It took me four years to give The Office a chance (it premiered in 2005, I guess), but it is also one of my favorite shows now.

Aside from those two shows, some of my all-time favorites are: The Nanny, Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, and Roseanne.

You can occasionally catch me watching American Idol, Say Yes To The Dress, Teen Mom, anything educational on Animal Planet, anything water related on Discovery, Cash Cab... That's all I can think of.

WALL•E

This movie makes my soul smile.

My dad calls me a movie buff because I watch a ton of movies. Really, I spend most of my spare time watching movies. Technically, I'm not a movie buff. I know nothing about the real classics. And I'm quite all right with that. My idea of a classic is The Lion King. I love 80s movies, but anything before that time really won't hold my interest. However, I can watch any genre movie created in this day and age, and appreciate it if nothing else.

I keep a list of my favorite movies. I think I've posted it on here before. I'm constantly updating it. I'll spare you that (for now).

howdy folks, got some weird christmas specials for y'al

first-
the entire Star Wars "Holiday" Special. Classic 70s weirdness, oh, now it's called life day.

Second-
A Real Ghostbusters Christmas. a surprisingly funny christmas carol take. how come i never noticed the guy who played bill murray on the show was also garfield's voice. that's a strange garfieldian circle

third- A Space Ghost Christmas. w/ hilariously wrong carol lyrics.

fourth- Ziggy's gift. a surprisingly heartwarming Ziggy christmas special. with a song by narry nilsson

And last-
What is perhaps one of the greatest holiday films of our generation, Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys. Starring Corey Feldman as Toulon, and featuring the dolls and the toys teaming up for a battle with a satanic santa ( or is it santanic satan?)

It's hard to say. How can you pick just one song? If I find a song I really love I tend to favor it until I get so used to hearing it, it sounds like background noise. That sucks.

Then there are the different genres I listen to according to my moods. I try to keep a playlist of my favorite songs on iTunes, but it's really hard for me to distinguish whether or not a song is my favorite, or if I just really like it for now... Oh, gosh. I am making this more complicated than it should be. I have 41 songs on my Favorite Songs playlist. Here is one at random:

Don Henley - Heart Of The Matter

I haven't left my house since last Friday (the 11th). This town is dire in the wintertime. I think I might have cabin fever. Jessie told me she saw on Myth Busters they proved that cabin fever was real, and their test subjects showed symptoms after only 2 days!

Have you tried omegle? It's a pretty simple chat concept. You don't have to register, so it'd probably be faster just to try it out than have me explain it.

How about Wordle? It's pretty fun as long as you have a theme. I made this collage of my favorite movies: http://i49.tinypic.com/2iuug4x.jpg

Where the Wild Things Are 7.5/10

leave it to Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers to make Maurice Sendak's famous kids book into an indie-twee cry fest. Despite the unconventional direction the filmmakers took for the story it works. the story is remade as a parable about the effects and reasons behind anger and temper tantrums wherein little max goes to an island of monsters who are all bitter, angry and unable to control their confusing feelings and they look to Max to give their lives hope and stability. There is some fun to be had in the film, and the indie-rock score, partially made by members of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's is downright effective in evoking a mood of lost childhood.
The story is mainly about Max's journey towards understanding empathy and the ways that anger and frustration can divide families and leave a gap of miscommunication, all played out with amusing behavior among the monsters who do little except fight amongst themselves and yet yearn for days when everyone could just be happy together. The tale even ends unconventionally, and yet somehow realistically, offering few real changes in the lives of the monsters but an important one in max who learns real truths about compassion and the behaviors which sometimes winds up hurting those one loves, even when not intending to; that, everyone does it and everyone can be warm and cuddly or scary depending on when you see them and 'how' you see them. overall, a strong work and a good kid's movie if also disappointingly lacking in plot. the narrative chooses instead to just play out the scene to a logical conclusion and let the audience infer the meaning, a quality which will make it en excellent movie for rowdy kids in years to come but might leave some adults wondering what all the fuss was about.

i have a whole bunch of other reviews. might post some later.

So I've been thinking... I may delete this dumb journal:
1) because I used my real name like a fucking uncreative idiot
- Therefore I may make a new journal? But will I use it?
2) I started writing in my old paper journal again tonight, and its nice because it is only for myself and I like that. I feel like everything in my life lately is shared and I want something for myself and only me.
3) I can't keep up with shit on the internet because I am addicted to too many websites (ie facebook, last.fm, tumblr, twitter) So how about whoever has a tumblr adds me there (paulinacassimus.tumblr.com/ ). Tumblr is way less personal, and I like that for now.

...If I decide to get a new LJ I will let you all know (whoever stills wants to be friends) and you can add me there.

Goodbye for now, and Happy Holidays.
